Wendy Biro-Pollard is a nonprofit management expert and Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA). She is a seasoned speaker and facilitator in demand at conferences throughout the United States. Wendy has led hundreds of workshops and seminars for individuals in the public and private sector, for state and national associations, and for national service and faith-based programs.
For 16 years, Wendy directed hospital volunteer programs and has now taken her experience and expertise on the road. She currently provides healthcare volunteer management and board leadership consulting services at large and small healthcare systems nationwide.
Recently, Wendy and training partner, Kathleen McCleskey worked with the Kansas Commission on Volunteerism on a one-year grant to increase skills-based and pro bono volunteer utilization in the state of Kansas. And, for the past five years, they have served as adjunct faculty members for The Center for Nonprofit Studies at Austin Community College. Wendy and Kathleen teach the highly rated, four-day Certificate in Volunteer Management course.
Since 2012, Wendy has provided webinars and specialized board leadership training and retreats for nonprofits, corporate foundations and governmental agencies.
For over a decade, Wendy served on the national training team for VISTA Americorp, and in 2007, provided contract training services for Temple University’s Center for Intergenerational Learning, boomer volunteer initiative.
Wendy has provided soft-skills training classes for Alliance Work Partners, an Austin-based employee assistance program serving State of Texas and City of Austin employees. She was also a contract trainer for ConcernEAP. Concern’s clients include a variety of high tech companies including Apple Computer.
Wendy served on the board of the Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP), an affiliate of the American Hospital Association, and as President of the Texas Association, Directors of Volunteer Services (TADVS).
She holds a BS degree in Education, and in 2008, she received a certificate in nonprofit leadership and management.
Wendy lives in the beautiful Texas Hill Country outside of Austin with her husband and therapy dog Gracie.
